Bought this product because of the digital screen and also because it can be fitted directly into my dash with a separate trim purchase. Installation was easy. I tried a "regular" brake controller with no features and found it wasn't for me. I just took the old one off and put it in with an extra pad so I didn't have to drill holes in my records. I was a bit worried at first because it wouldn't turn off when the car was off and the key removed. But a quick google search and found that it shuts off after about 15 minutes. Holding the top right button brings up a list of "Followers" to choose from. If you frequently transport trailers/loads of different sizes, you can easily switch between them by selecting from the list. The display options are great. You can choose brightness, contrast and color so you can really customize the controller to blend in well with the rest of your interior. The menu even has a troubleshoot option that lets you see different things. For example vehicle battery voltage, brake light voltage, average trailer voltage and brake/hand switch voltage. In addition, there is a "Contact Us" option that leads to their website. The on-screen display of the power the brakes are set to is great. Significantly improved compared to the "dial" method of setting braking force. Gives you a real visual representation of your changes and whether they increase or decrease braking power. Let me know if there was no trailer brake connection when hooked up to the truck.
