Review on LIFTMASTER 144C56 Chain Cable Idler Pulley for Garage Door Openers - Black by John Brazington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Two important steps when installing a pulley * Grease on the pulley and protective tab on the guide

Like many reviewers, I wish this pulley was steel and more durable. Two important facts that make it durable. Before Installation1 Fill the hole in the center of the pulley with garage door grease, not WD40 or spray oil. Find a $7 whistle on Amazon. 2. Check the top of the rail a few inches in front of the roller, you should be able to see or feel it. a piece of rail that protrudes upwards to prevent the carriage from sliding and hitting the roller area. This is a tab that is designed to be pryed 90° with a flathead screwdriver during initial installation. It wasn't mine. Fairly easy to lift, easier access if you temporarily remove the key fob that attaches the track to the garage door. Def recommends purchasing 2 pulleys so you have spares on hand. Great YouTube video showing how and where.
