Zero stars would be most appropriate here. Based on the product description and some customer reviews here, the carrier I bought (size small) should have been a good and safe option for my cinnamon wife - Doghouse tickled. She wasn't afraid of it and immediately came in to have a look around when I introduced her. Well! But then, as she explored the inside, she quickly managed to stick her head through one of the side holes so far that she got stuck. I didn't expect this to happen from what I've read here, and it happened so quickly that it surprised me. My bird and I were both very scared, although I managed to free her unharmed. My kennel is small for her species/variety but not that unusual. Her height and weight were within the normal range. Suffice it to say I will ship back to the carrier for a refund. I absolutely do not recommend this product for individual kennels of smaller species/varieties that fall in the lower half of the normal size range. And I would advise owners of similarly sized species to think twice.
