Turns itself off in the middle of being used

I got this to help make my morning pour over, and have found it to regularly turn itself off between pours. So I’m maybe halfway through, then the screen goes black and I loose the weight, because it tares itself fresh when you turn it back on. It’s so frustrating when I’m just trying to make my coffee and get ready for the day. Makes me want to throw this thing in the trash.
