Fantastic suction power

Update: Ever since I got this vacuum I've been obsessed with vacuuming, silly as that may sound. I am absolutely amazed at how much dirt it picks up even though the room may have only been vacuumed two days ago. But make sure the brush rotates. This is the only way it becomes flexible. I've only had this thing for a day so I'll update my review as I've had more time to use it. Parts connect quickly and easily. The assembly is super quick. There are a few attachments that you inevitably have to stow away somewhere because they don't fit the vacuum cleaner. It's lighter than the older Dyson model, but I wouldn't say it's SUPER light. However, it works for me and I have a two story house. If you've never owned a Dyson Ball (or a similar product from another brand), the suction power is like nothing you've ever seen. He actually sucks so hard he pulls on the carpet. My husband said he actually smelled the "new carpet smell" which we haven't smelled in years since we moved in. I think it just brought everything to the surface. It does a very thorough job. With my old vacuum, I had to make 2-3 slow passes in different directions to clean the carpet. But with this I can do a quick run and completely clear a room in five minutes. This is with a big dog in the house. One thing I do want to say is that you MUST rotate the brush bar if using this in carpeted rooms. At the top (next to the power button) is an infinity button that toggles the brush strip on and off. When it's off you can't move the vacuum, at least not without some serious effort. The addition of a brush barn makes it really manoeuvrable. I've found that if I leave the vacuum in the same spot for too long, the brush turns itself off. In this case, you have to press the Infinity key again until the brush bar turns on and stays on. I will also say that many people seemed disappointed with this item, perhaps because they gave it up without trying. overcome the learning curve. We bought ours from Sam's Club and found that all the boxes (save one) were opened and then taped back together as if they were all bought and then returned. I actually really like it (except that the brush strip turns off when I'm standing still).

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
