Review on 🔪 Fällkniven Dual-Sided Ceramic Sharpener by Jennifer Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Universal field sharpener

It is absolutely sharp-edged. The middle side removes material quite aggressively. Fast enough to get a fairly dull edge up in minutes. The thin side brings the edge to a high gloss. The one I received has some ripples or a wood grain like pattern on the white side. It may not be necessary (or desirable), but I sanded my apartment. Bottom line, this is a sharpener for the field. There is a very nice razor sharp pragmatic edge, but it's very difficult to create a nice looking edge. practice will make it better. I recommend lighter pressure. Just don't expect it to replace a good set of water stones. Edit: After using it for a few days, I came to the conclusion that this stone is truly amazing. As I said, the white side is grooved and I polished it. I also made the center of the white stone slightly higher than the sides by grinding it on a diamond stone and applying pressure from the center. This is because the edge of the stone is sharp and rough. This creates an ugly edge scratch when the edge makes contact with the edge of the stone. After that, the stone became amazing. It produces an absolutely beautiful mirror finish that shines on my 8000 grit Kitayama waterstone. I'm hoping there will be a full size version of this and I will definitely be using it as my final polishing stone.
