I bought one of these from Best Buy. This time I chose WD because I had so many rejections from Seagate. However, every few hours it would disconnect and my computer would say "USB device not recognized" and it was unreachable. Tried three different cables and three different USB ports - still disconnected at least every few hours. I found that I had to unplug and plug it back in for it to work, usually for a few more hours. I called WD support and they didn't know anything about their product. I described it above and they thought the problem was in the power supply! I received an RMA and sent it back which cost me $13. I've been using the replacement unit for a couple of weeks and it had the exact same issue. I received an RMA for it which cost me another $13. The third has the same problem. Except now it doesn't work on USB3! Sending it back would have cost me another $13 and it's almost certain I'll have the same problem. I have a timer to turn it off and on again so I don't have to keep disconnecting the power and it was cheaper than shipping it again. A piece of junk!
