Curt Trailer Light Kit for '08 Scion xB

The kit arrived very quickly even if you chose free shipping. The instructions were pretty clear and concise and easy to follow. Installation was fairly easy, other than running the power cable to the battery. The kit suggests going through the rubber boot in the trunk area and along the underside of the car into the engine compartment. I wanted to lay the cable in the car, but couldn't find a suitable entrance from the passenger compartment to the engine compartment. So I ran it as suggested. The cable itself has a fairly strong jacket and is insulated so I hope it lasts a while. It works great with my folding trailer lighting system and is exactly what I was looking for. - Update October 2014 - So, after 3 years of very infrequent use (less than a dozen times), I've noticed that my trailer lights are intermittent when connected to a lighting kit. . It all started with the turn signals not working, but the parking and brake lights still worked. As a result, it got to the point where nothing worked at all. After troubleshooting the headlights on the trailer and the wiring in the car, it turned out that the electronic module was the culprit. Of course, the lighting kit comes with a 1-year limited warranty, so I didn't ask Kurt for help. I needed the trailer lights for an upcoming trip that would last until evening, so I spent another $50 to get a new unit. I did not replace the main power cable to the battery as it was in good condition which made installation very quick and easy. Plugged everything back in and I have light again. Due to the device's short lifespan, I'm reducing my rating to 3 stars. It's working well for now, but seems like it should last over 3 years with occasional use before failing.
