The control unit failed after a single use.

I give two stars because of the easy installation. This would be significantly higher if the control unit did not fail after just one use. I am ordering another one hoping it was just a defective unit. I'll post another review once I've tried the second one.

  • Pleasant to use

Necessary!

Bought a hitch for an XB and this is the hanger for it. There is conflicting information. But no. This is the suspension for a 2008 Scion XB. In any case. delivered as promised, on time, at a great price, very satisfied! What else is there? Ease of installation. Route the power cable under the vehicle to the battery. The cable has a fuse. A bit tricky, but there really is no other way. Kurt did a great job with the insurance! No problems like never before. If I had to buy another pendant from…

This is my second module, the first one was purchased from Rock Auto. Identical product but the first module failed after about 3 years of light use. Much easier to install by simply swapping out the module, hopefully it will last longer this time, and why 3 stars instead of 5. I renewed my trailer with LED lights to hopefully avoid shorting the trailer and burning out the module. Although the first was used on a new trailer with new headlights, the headlights on the trailer were the cheapest…

Factory built but having performance issues

This harness fits my 2010 XB as designed. I had the same experience as another customer where the turn signals and brake lights worked but the daytime running lights didn't. I bought the 2nd unit from another source that had an identical issue. I ended up making a direct connection from Curt's T-connector from the car's taillight circuit to the trailer's light wire connector, bypassing the Curt control module. After that, the taillights worked perfectly. I believe the problem is with the Curt…

Easy installation but instructions are confusing.

Cast out some directions. You are confusing. Taillight cables are connected. Remove the spare tire along with the jack box. Plug in the right tail light connector, route the wire along the back of the trunk. Use a screwdriver to remove the paint around the taillight stud/screw and ground the white wire there. Take some plastic glue to stick the module in the corner. Pass the (4-wire) tow hitch plug through the rubber grommet under the spare wheel. Leave the wire slack in the middle of the pole…

Installing Scion xB

This product is installed as if it could be tested. However, given the xB's relatively low ground clearance, we chose to route all cables internally along existing conduits to avoid potential damage. While the hitch installation took about 15 minutes to complete, this project took about 45 minutes and two of us worked on it, one of us (not me) was experienced (and brave enough) with things like this. A few details about this setup. You will need to remove the spare tire and all of the driver's…

Curt Trailer Light Kit for '08 Scion xB

The kit arrived very quickly even if you chose free shipping. The instructions were pretty clear and concise and easy to follow. Installation was fairly easy, other than running the power cable to the battery. The kit suggests going through the rubber boot in the trunk area and along the underside of the car into the engine compartment. I wanted to lay the cable in the car, but couldn't find a suitable entrance from the passenger compartment to the engine compartment. So I ran it as suggested…
