Well, it finally happened. I've reached a point in my life where I've fallen head over heels in love with a kitchen tool. Before you shake your head sadly and mourn the loss of another middle-aged woman to the traps of domestic life, allow me to assure you that my passion is well founded. This is a solid, excellent tool that far exceeded my expectations in this greedy modern age of building cheap for a quick buck. The plastic is smooth, strong and thick, not flimsy by any means. The little rubber feet on the bin portion of the kit really help keep slippage to a minimum. Easily inserted/removed friction plates stay in place but slide out with almost no pressure. They are sharp and make clean cuts. The ground material actually remains in the container. It's a fucking miracle. It really works. I've had several different sets that came with a container but they cracked or became brittle with use. Oxo products don't. It took me a long time to turn down the $30 price tag on the grille kit, but when I discovered I had a surprise on my credit card, I applied it to this kit and it ended up costing me just $5 . bag, so I went for it. It's totally worth $30, folks. If you cook and rely on really good tools that you can use again and again and clean easily, Oxo won't disappoint. They usually sell at the highest price, but their products are of a buy-once-keep-forever quality, so you really can't fault them. You have to pay for things that last 20 years, right? Great purchase and I have no regrets. Highly recommended. And now I'll never need a set of poles again!
