Overall there is great loyalty to the Hakko brand. However, this is not the level of quality that Hakko is known and loved for. just not thought through. Basically it is a container. should be heavier and have a thicker protective base. Every time I put my bait in, I lift the entire container unless I'm physically holding it with my hand. Also, if my tip goes too deep and I hit the bottom, I feel like it could melt and hit right on the surface of the container the container is standing on with no problem. PS I weighed it, and it turned out to be insignificant. 1.7 oz. Take a look at their PCB holders, or better yet, compare them side by side. Apparently the bean counters got it. See photos. It's just not a good idea for those who have their heads and hands busy with a project and a very hot iron. You can stick it on with Velcro or putty, and I can do that, but that's not the point. Hakko should have known better and thought things through. Or why not just buy Chinese stuff for half the price or less? I'd happily pay more to get something that does its job effortlessly. If you're familiar with Hakko irons, tips, circuit board holders and other products, that's not in the same league to me.
