Saves you money and headaches.

Paid for first use. Fiction. Accidentally destroyed a new car battery while the stereo was plugged in in a car that had been sitting for two weeks. Discharge this sucker to 4 volts. :-0 Once a car battery has dropped to 9V or less, it is common knowledge that it needs to be replaced. But sometimes new batteries can be salvaged. Apparently the key to keeping a new battery dead is to recharge it very slowly. I let the tender charge it for a couple of hours, disconnected it and finished charging the next day. full 13 volts and holds up well! Hooray, battery saved! If I jumped the battery that low it would kill the battery and possibly the alternator. It's already saved me about $80. and found that it was not fully charged like new. Of course, new batteries should also be charged before they are used for the first time in order to extend their service life. In a few hours I increased the voltage from 12.4 to 13.0 volts. before the intended use in order to keep the battery charged over a longer period of time. It may break tomorrow and I'll still feel my money's worth and buy another one.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Don't remind me
