I have a 1.5" diameter point for leveling rough panel with a home made jig for my hand router. But I might also use it for 1.5" dados in the future if I use 2X material. Adequate cutting depth of 20mm or just over 3/4 inch. Anyway, I'm still assembling the leveler and waiting for the plates to dry. So I've now placed this bit on the router table just to make some test cuts. Works perfectly. Extremely sharp. Simply cut through several soft pieces of poplar. Almost no resistance. The profile was very consistent and unblemished on the bottom and sides. Nice clean 90 degree corners. was smooth and efficient. No burning or vibration. The Beatlo appears to be very well made, with good quality carbon steel and carbide tipped grooves. I've posted some close-up photos so you can appreciate the build quality and attention to detail. checked for any imperfections and found none, although there was a small spot of rust on the base (below) of the stock which you can see in one of the photos I posted. Protect the bit during storage or transport and it's clearly marked with a d so I can quickly find what I need. Overall I'm very impressed with this bit so far, although I haven't used it much yet and I can't speak to the durability. Can't wait to get it working on my panels and other leveling work. Based on my research, this is a very reasonable price compared to similar sized bits.
