Review on 📶 D-Link DIR-860L: High-Speed IEEE 802.11ac Wireless Router by Adam Rogers

Ideally five stars minus. I bought this because I had a similar model that came with my cable internet a few years ago. This one worked decently and if only this product could support that level of performance it would be great for the price. Unfortunately, there were problems here from the start. I'm an IT consultant, so setting up consumer networking products is not a problem. I figured something was wrong with this junk when none of my devices (iPad, smartphone, laptop) could connect wirelessly with the default settings, even though it was 5ft from the router. I restarted the router and connected it via a network cable, configured a new SSID with a password. Again, my devices could only connect briefly and then the network collapsed. Sometimes after an hour, sometimes after 3. None of my devices (Android, iOS, Windows 10) came along and had to restart the router every time. At some point you realize that time is more valuable than the product. I went to a local micro center and bought a cheap Asus router and everything was great. I don't normally write negative reviews but this is the first time I'm writing this so as not to disappoint future buyers.
