Review on Frigidaire WF2CB PureSource2 Filtration System by Corey Moulton

I felt compelled to write a review on this product so that no one else would have to experience the hassle that I was experiencing. I have an old refrigerator that is about 10 years old. I bought a water filter and like many other reviewers reported that the water filter spontaneously ejects water and splashes into the fridge. I contacted the manufacturer about this issue and they initially accused me of not buying the filter directly from the manufacturer. So I bought directly from the manufacturer and the same result. I contacted the manufacturer again and this time they told me it was a "known design issue" and after a few translations they made an appointment with a mechanic to look at it for free. He looked in the refrigerator and found that a new plain water filter (P/N 240396002) needed to be ordered. The part took 1 week to ship and we had to reschedule another appointment for the repair. It turns out that if your base water filter is clear plastic, it will NOT work with the new WF2CB water filters. The new basic water filter is made of white opaque plastic (see attached photo). The manufacturer will replace the basic water filter for free, but I didn't mention a known design issue. I wish I had known all of this before ordering the WF2CB water filter. Everything is working fine now, but it took a couple of weeks to fix everything properly.
