Working but may have poor sound quality depending on the output device

I bought this to output audio from my laptop as the internal audio has died (there is no audio from either built in speaker or the audio jack ). Headphones). It does the main job of outputting sound, but the sound quality is terrible. The music is extremely fragile and tinny, almost painful to listen to, and turning on a bass booster or treble reducer doesn't help much. I guess at this price I can't complain, but to give some context, before that I was using the headphone jack on a pair of 2000 USB speakers for USB audio output. (Unfortunately, the speakers, or at least the power supply, broke.) The sound through this jack was much better than this. I think that with all the advances in technology over the past 14 years, even the cheapest sound card will be able to output this quality of sound. I think I was wrong. I think next time I might try the $8 best-selling Sabrent. I'm about to switch to another laptop so didn't want to pay a lot for basic audio. EDIT: Looks like the audio quality issue is mostly due to having issues with higher impedance headphones. The sound quality is better when I connect my speakers but the same as above when I connect my Audio-Technica M50s to it. However, it's the only output device I've come across that had this problem, and the M50s sound good even when connected to an iPod, iPhone, etc, so I'm surprised they have so many problems with headphones Has. . However, the sound quality isn't that bad if you use a pair of powered speakers. Just be careful if you plan on listening through a decent pair of headphones.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
