Review on Motorcraft JK6873EA V Ribbed Belt by Tony Reid

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The number on the belt most likely does not match the box.

Much to the annoyance of my neighbors, the first time I changed my belt I used a different brand of belt from the local auto parts store. This belt made a lot of noise every time I started the engine. I ended up going to a Ford dealership and spending more money on a Motorcraft brand belt. The squeak problem is gone. I'm probably more careful than most as I change the belt every 60,000 miles regardless of any signs of wear. I saw another review that said the part number on the belt didn't match the number on the box. It's the same for me. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the belt is from a trusted seller. The Revain box says JK6 873 EA (part number) 4L5Z-8620-EA (cryptic number). I'm not sure what the 4L5Z number is, but I suspect it's the manufacturer's number. Anyway, this number is not on the belt, but there is a similar number. The latest belt from my Revain purchase has this number on the belt: 7L5E-8620-EA. I actually saved my previous belts as a backup and they have these numbers: 4L5E-8620-EA1L5E-8620-CB Anyway, after the squeaking issue. I'm stuck with the Motorcraft brand and haven't had any problems so far.
