Perfect size for dumplings

I was wondering if the molds would be too big but they work for Polish dumplings. I added "Polish" although using that word with dumplings is a bit redundant. But I saw another review commenting on "Russian vareniki" and wanted to stand out. Stuffed Russian dumplings are a lot smaller than what you get in this six-piece mold. I was wondering if the folded edges would be too thick or too wide. No, they are pretty thin with minimal flex. I was a bit worried that the extra bend on the long side (the side that only bends in hand-formed dumplings) would be too obvious. I've found that the extra bend isn't a problem. A big plus: I've found that I can get more filling for the dumpling with this mold. Dough works with you, it's a great product. If your money is working against you, this product will not make your endeavor any easier. If you've made dumplings before, you know what I mean. I have used this product twice already and thank goodness (for the sake of this review) the first time I used this mold my dough cooperated and the experience was enjoyable. The second time I used this form there was more struggle. But it wasn't the shape's fault - it was a battle between me and the dough. If you're making traditional dumpling dough (tender, soft, thin), you don't need more than one. It would be difficult to roll out enough dough to use two molds at once. (Just multiply the size of that shape by four (top and bottom plus another top and bottom) and imagine that size being rolled out on the countertop.) I personally can't keep that much dough stretched or it will dry out too much off . If you're using a very tender and moist dough, you may need some dexterity to press the finished dumplings out of the mold. It helps to leave the pan with the dumplings in it for a minute: after a minute, turn the pan over and the dumplings will fall out. FYI: to give you an idea of the dough I'm using: it's too soft. run it through the pasta machine. I'm so glad I finally bought one of these molds; I wish I had done this much sooner.

Pros
  • Pasta molds and dies
Cons
