I washed it with a mixture of Listerine and hydrogen peroxide, then dipped it into 70% isopropyl alcohol for hours. Hopefully, this procedure will weaken the "glue” if there is any. I only need a couple of feet, so, I want to break it from the glued part. I stretched it forcefully, scratched it with my nail, but I did not find glued part at this strip cord. It is one piece. I dried it, then, dipped it into Johnson’s baby oil for an hour, then dried it. It has become softer and smelled better, and its color became darker than before. I used it to fix my notebook and tied my flint. It works well for that purpose.
