I bought a boat and needed to upgrade my stereo system. For the most part, I was new to mobile audio, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I hooked up a 12" subwoofer (bridged) to it and got compliments on the stereo system the whole time. The 4.6.5-inch speakers were exclusively powered by the head unit. I operated the booster with my own battery (90Ah) and I never ran out of battery, even after several rides in a row and without recharging. It has lived in the engine bay of the Mercruiser 4.3 for almost 3 years, the boat has always been stored outside (covered) and the amp has fallen off its bracket a few times during transport but I have never had a problem with it. Bass is lacking on my new boat, despite having a professionally installed 1500 watt amplifier (which drives both 6.5" speakers and a 12" subwoofer). I'll probably add one of these to power the subwoofer(s) in the future.
