It almost makes me sad that I've owned so many Garmin GPS watches over the years. I've seen almost everything and keep coming back to it. Why? It just works. And it works WELL. Garmin stopped updating the software in 2012 or 2013, but if the GPS track is near-perfect, what does it matter whether you're using smart recording or one-second intervals? The altitude graphs are amazing and you can pair it with any ANT+ heart rate strap and it will work. It doesn't look very pretty on the wrist and is a bit big (and I'm a big guy), but it does its job and does it quite well. You can purchase kits to make them fast transition watches if you're going for triathlons etc. As this isn't a watch for everyday use, the battery lasts quite a while, although the longest rides I've recorded have each been less than 4 hours were. The fact that you can't wear it as an everyday watch and that it's not very pretty is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise Garmin has found a convincing combination in this device. I wish they would use it in their Fenix or Epix line as this unit CONSTANTLY outperforms them in both tracking accuracy and height/elevation graphs.
