Use it regularly Good for GPS, finders and accessories

I usually break tech in record time but I've had this watch for over two years now and it works like new. I've used it to track 100 mile endurance rides in 24 hours and it works like a charm. Easy to sync with software, although I'm not very tech savvy. Love all the stats and the fact that they can easily be exported to Google Earth or AllTrails. I use it for everything from hiking to horseback riding to walking around the block. Outperforms every phone app I've tried and doesn't suck up data…

Ideal for windsurfing!

Ideal for windsurfing. Replaced my 205 which died when I replaced the battery and water got in. It's not clear what exactly had to change from the old x05 series. The best way to describe it is that it's different but the same. To Garmin's credit, they didn't dig into the nitty-gritty. This device retains all the flexibility and configurability of the previous series. Delaying the purchase of certain technologies is worthwhile. This certainly applies to the 310xt. The training center has been…

Block 305 replaced - like it

I've had a Block 305 for many years which I loved but eventually it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 20 minutes. I reluctantly bought this to replace the 305 and was surprised at how much I love it. They pick up satellites faster than the 305, which cuts down on the time I stand before starting my morning run. The watch face is roughly the same size as the 305, making it highly visible and allowing for up to 4 fields. Another thing I like is that the little loop that holds the end of the…

Watch strap breaks on every Garmin property!

In February 2016 I bought my third Garmin. The most recent was the 310XT, as was the second. The first was 305. Each band broke in the same place - where the pin attaches to the watch case. One of the corners where the pin is attached breaks, making it impossible to attach a new strap. The last breakdown occurred just 4 months after buying the watch. I'm a thin woman and I use my Garmin watch sparingly so it's not worn too tight or overused. After checking online I found that many people were…

Good for distance and time but not good for pace

Works very well for capturing distance, time and altitude and the battery lasts a long time. I've had a TomTom watch before and this one seems better and more durable (albeit a lot bigger). The only complaint (aside from the size) is that the GPS-only pace/speed measurement currently works well with this device or any other, and you'll find that your estimated speed jumps around quite a bit. One second you're running at a pace of 9:30, the next second at a pace of 11:15, although your pace…

Ugly but works incredibly well

It almost makes me sad that I've owned so many Garmin GPS watches over the years. I've seen almost everything and keep coming back to it. Why? It just works. And it works WELL. Garmin stopped updating the software in 2012 or 2013, but if the GPS track is near-perfect, what does it matter whether you're using smart recording or one-second intervals? The altitude graphs are amazing and you can pair it with any ANT+ heart rate strap and it will work. It doesn't look very pretty on the wrist and is

Terrible junk, not worth the hassle and hassle!

I hate this thing more than words can describe but I'll try. I don't know if it's related to the device itself, the software on the device, or the Garmin Express software, but the effort required to upload your workouts to Garmin Connect is absolutely monumental. I generally spend more time syncing my Garmin than exercising. For example, today I rode my bike for 3:45 hours. I started syncing my Garmin as soon as I got home at 2pm. It's past midnight now and the sync still failed. Writes"data…

More than twice the price of the 305; not worth the extra cost.

This watch has many really great features, but some of them have serious flaws. cradle. At my last race, when I tried to charge my 305 on the go, I kept having to check to see if it had come loose from the charging station. I don't expect these issues to occur with the 310XT as the clip seems to hold the watch fairly securely. The battery life is excellent. I've used the watch for 6 miles, 31 miles, 23 miles and 4 miles. Only after all four runs did I have to charge the watch. The display has…

Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

I have been using a Garmin 310XT for about 6 years. I ordered one while I was in Iraq and Amazon shipped it quickly with my APO box. It's an easy device to use and I've never had any problems with it. It finds satellites quickly and I never lose reception. I first bought a Garmin 405 but didn't like the touchscreen frame because I sweat a lot and the display was small. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the new models have, but from a pure running standpoint it works great. It…
