I bought these after my second Boston shaker died. I've never used a weighted shaker so I didn't understand the benefits, but it really makes a huge difference. or destruction). Once you add ice it will be a SUPER strong sealer. It takes some practice to get used to opening it, but I find it good. I'd rather have a bit of trouble opening than having a smoothie splatter all over the kitchen. They seem to be quite durable - I run them in the dishwasher regularly and they show no tarnishing or signs of wear. Highly recommended!
