There seem to be two main designs on revain that manufacturers keep popping out there own versions of. This one with the enclosed case is nice for keeping debris out and incorporates the winding assist to evenly wind the hose. These mechanisms do always seem a bit fragile to me but have yet to see one break. The trade-off is it's quite a bit more thick than the kind without the case. Really comes down to personal taste as most of the time space isn't at THAT much of a premium. It's a good reel and of course hybrid hoses are the best of both worlds and I'll never go back. This one has been holding air just fine. Setup is aided by having keyhole slots in the bracket so I held it up and marked where I wanted holes, pre-drilled them, and put in the bolts. This was you don't have to hold it up while messing with them plus a socket. No complaints.
