Works and easy to use!

I removed the railing from the sailboat to remove layers of paint and then applied teak oil before reinstalling. The nature of these handrails is that they have 7 studs on each of the two railings and securely fasten the handrails to the top of the cabin. The bolts go through drilled holes in the fiberglass and then a washer, lock washer and nut. The rails are firmly connected to the driver's cab. The head of the bolt is not visible - it is at the top of the guide, and the wooden plugs that follow the contour of the top of the guide hide the screw heads. These bolts should never be removed from the inside of the rail and this is a chore as the plug has to be drilled out and a new one installed and fastened to the rail. When I initially unscrewed the nuts from the studs in the cab, one of the nuts had to be unscrewed from the stud and the stud began to rotate in the rail. So I had to use pliers to hold the bolt in place and another pair of pliers to unscrew the nut. When it came time to put the nut back on, I couldn't thread it onto the stud. My pliers messed up the bottom thread. I considered using a diamond cutting wheel on my Drexel to remove the bottom threads but that would leave little thread to reattach the nut and also the nut had to be unscrewed originally so I would still run into this problem. I then discovered the EZThread 382 while searching the internet and Revain for solutions or buying another type of fastener to clamp existing threads, but then I stumbled upon this tool for repairing existing threads. The 382 Mini Sander was easy to use. Literally after 1-2 minutes of use I was able to put the nut back on. But the other threads made it difficult to fully reinstall the washers and nut, so I adjusted the extra threads and kept checking how easy it was to fully install the nut. After just a few minutes of threading, the washers and nut were easily reinstalled. Now that I could thread the nut all the way to the inside of the cab roof, the friction on the bolt head prevented the bolt from turning in the rail and I was able to tighten the nut just fine. So this tool not only repaired the original threads to fit the nut, but also re-threaded the remaining threads so I can use a bolt and get a tight fit without having to replace the bolt, which would have taken a lot longer to repair and work required to replace and contour the new plug on the outside of the rail. This is a great tool! I tell all my friends about it!
