It can be made to work well

This bag works well enough, but it has issues that you need to address. and it does not tear/puncture. - Good for quite a bit when properly loaded. Cons: - The straps are crappy cam buckles that come off easily and are particularly flimsy, and the strap material is slippery making them useless. Either tie it down like it's just a rope, or replace it with a buckle strap (think heavy-duty version of a backpack strap buckle) or ratchet strap. Regardless of the type of belt you use, it's probably in your headspace. the whole journey. We were lucky as I was able to ride the entire 5 hour drive with my husband reclined his seat just enough so that the seat belt didn't hit him over the head for the entire ride and I'm small enough that it didn't matter . - The straps are also not waterproof. That means they soak water right into your car and drip everywhere. As I mentioned earlier, these straps go through the front and rear seats and either directly over or touch your head. You must either replace it with a waterproof strap or apply a waterproofing agent to the strap. Also opens car doors, allowing water to be pushed out in the same way at high speeds. Minor things to note: The bag works best when full. Clapping it will quickly destroy it, as with anything else it's important to keep it taut. We filled it with light, bulky items like garment bags and lightboxes, and then used blankets and pillows to fill out the rest. Most cars without a roof rack have a very achievable maximum roof load of around 100 pounds, so don't overload it. affects the handling of the vehicle. As I said, mine worked fine because I had weatherproof ratchet straps on hand, but was still having trouble with strap placement.
