Happy off-road driving!

I ordered this bag as a last resort when traveling around the country. I followed the instructions and completed the setup myself and as a single 29 year old I was very pleased with how easy it was. This bag went through snow, wind, sand, rain. I didn't move at all on the roof of my car, even with some terrain. I went 85 mph intermittently (although I don't encourage it, this bag kept the speed) and rode 2,000 miles. The characteristics of my car have not changed, although I cannot speak aboutโ€ฆ

A quality car carrier for those of us who don't have a roof rack.

This top-notch car made it from San Francisco to Boston through rain, wind and snow with no problems, laden with camping gear and luggage. Some points to watch out for: 1. As the belts run through the car, they compress the door seals, causing air leaks and a lot of noise. 2. Unlike some others who have reported leaks along the straps. I've been through heavy rain and snow and haven't experienced any leaks.3. Make sure you position the strap so it doesn't touch your head. Pushing in the sidesโ€ฆ

Great handy buy!

My brilliant engineering brother was sure this relatively simple bag would never survive my 1200 mile move, but it made it! Everything that was packed in Whistler (tons of my clothes) arrived in perfect condition. Despite the pouring rain for two full days of my trip, not a single drop got into the bag! However, the seat belts were completely soaked with water and dripped into the car. Nothing a towel and some paper towels fix! I give Whistler two thumbs up! This allowed me to load whatever Iโ€ฆ

Perfect! fits External Accessory

Bought for a recent trip across the country. It was perfect! - Very easy to install and fill - Keeps everything dry even in heavy rain and then snow - Packed in a compact bag, can stay in the trunk of my car for quick use if needed - Cheaper than renting, can keep for future use use and save money. My car doesn't have a luggage rack and stayed in place for the entire 1200+ mile ride. (We took it off when we stayed at the hotel overnight, useless to tempt anyone to cut straps or pockets, justโ€ฆ

Does the job: Cargo handling

Well, for starters, I tested the bag 1,300 miles in dry, hot, and humid weather and it held up. There were a few stains from the long ride, but nothing was torn and it held up well to the elements. The two things I hated about the cargo bag were that the protective mat never stayed in place and flew off somewhere after our third fill-up. Twice I moved the mat at the bus stop because of the annoying clapping on the roof, it turns out to be a sack. No matter how I adjusted the luggage from above,

It can be made to work well

This bag works well enough, but it has issues that you need to address. and it does not tear/puncture. - Good for quite a bit when properly loaded. Cons: - The straps are crappy cam buckles that come off easily and are particularly flimsy, and the strap material is slippery making them useless. Either tie it down like it's just a rope, or replace it with a buckle strap (think heavy-duty version of a backpack strap buckle) or ratchet strap. Regardless of the type of belt you use, it's probablyโ€ฆ

Left permanent damage to my car

I took this bag 1500 miles from Boston to Miami in the 2 days I moved in and I had about 90 pounds in it. Initially I was pleased with the ease of installation and how well it held up on the track. I cleaned the roof, made all the adjustments suggested in the manual, and even had to move the weight to make sure it didn't make a permanent dent in my Chevy Malibu's thin roof. When I got to North Carolina I noticed wear and tear on the sides of the bag, probably because it swayed in the wind, even
