these things are great. I have used them as a gunsmith for many years and they are much easier to work with than wet dry paper, emery cloth, files or stones. They cannot be used for all other instrument applications, but where they can be used they are great. They tend to wear down quickly with daily use but I have found that when worn you can use a coarse fabric rather than a medium than a fine etc. If you do this, make sure you wear them evenly, otherwise you may have problems with a too aggressive cut on the polished part.
