I was a girl scout in the 80's. When we camped it was always one unit, but at the beginning of each summer ALL the local units gathered at the camp. One day all the troops were involved in a needle exchange. Each squad prepared a badge in advance to trade with other vacationers. My team hot glued small plastic frogs onto tiny mirrors to make a "frog in the pond" pin. In short, they were VERY popular with all campers, so much so that our team decided to hide them in our tent instead of swapping them with other girls, which caused us a lot of trouble.
