Use wood glue to attach two before painting or they will warp.
I wrote a previous review but haven't worked with it yet. After painting with chalk paint on the front and back, they warped, making them difficult to glue (not with hot glue) to my flat surface. I will glue the two together before painting. I've done this before and it prevented warping.
