I had something similar from Vine too but with another brand I thought it was just a direct comparison. This is a big surprise. Among other comparisons, this can add a few inches to the length if needed. This is a nice useful feature that I wasn't aware of. What I liked about them is that unlike many previous ratchet screwdrivers that have loose bits on the end of the handle, or the bits are a twist to access the hole's handle. It was easy to lose track of both designs and I've been lucky enough to keep one or two of the originals after a few years as the rest just seem to get lost. It's east to keep the bits safe. You open and tilt the handle, select the bit you want, and close the handle to protect the remaining bits. Now both have the status of forward, reverse and stop ratchet. My older one should have big teeth but less resolution. For a full 360 degree rotation, I hear about 18 clicks. I've heard about twice as much about this new one, which can be good or bad when applying torque to drive fasteners and screws. I'm assuming it's a combination of tooth size and steel grade. Both drivers seem to work very well. I used this today to put together a small desktop stand for mounting a printer or monitor. This new one also has a different set of bits. The other one I had had 3 Phillips heads, 3 flat blades and four sprockets. This one had 5 Philips heads, 3 flat blades, a small star drive and some kind of wrench. This, in addition to lengthening, makes it more convenient than using a standard screwdriver. The magnetic catch in the disc holder is more durable in this case, making it difficult for the racket to fall out. It took some effort to pull it straight out. The size of the bits is a pretty standard hex base quarter inch so you can get sets with hundreds of different types and as long as they don't exceed around 3/4-7/8 inches in length you can fit any set of ten options for your driver. For example, use any Phillips, any Flat, any Hex, any Torx, or other combination of wrenches. It comes with what I mentioned but you are free to exchange if you have others. Great price for a ratchet screwdriver. My father was proud to have added it to his tool kit sometime in the early 1950's, and the ratchet screwdriver was an unusual tool. Not so much these days, and there are even rechargeable motorized versions, but it's just as easy and useful without having to worry about recharging.
