I love this thread. I usually use Inland from Microcenter, but it seems they recently switched suppliers and the new PLA isn't as good as what they had before. The material they had before is now called PLA+ and costs more. So I thought it would be worth expanding and getting something new so I ordered it. I like it at first sight. Prints nice. It is smooth. It's pretty much true to size. BUT. It seems to have flair. It's like it's coming from a twisted coil. And with my roller bearing spool holder, this rotation causes it to jump sideways off the spool in full loops. For example, when printing, sometimes an entire loop of filament detaches sideways from the spool and then rotates around the spool holder as the extruder pulls it into the machine. And it's not just one loop, sometimes it's two or three loops on longer prints. You can see the bend in the attached picture. And this role has just been loaded. And just in that short length of thread there is enough twist that it bends so much. Once the machine has picked up a few inches of thread, that small twist turns into a full loop, pulling the thread sideways off the spool. This wasn't a problem - it didn't cause the print to fail. But I've been vigilant, and when it is, I fiddle with it a bit and get it back on track. I can be a problem if I just leave it running unattended as the loop(s) sliding off the side of the spool can get stuck as the extruder slowly pulls them back. So I can't give 5 stars, I thought it would work. when I first took it out of the box. FWIW, my mom was complaining about a similar problem with some of the monofilaments she sewed with. My engineer father suggested that this was because the thread is wound onto the bobbin in the axial direction at the factory (the bobbin is held stationary while the machine winds the thread onto the bobbin) and the sewing machine removes the thread from the Spool tangential as spool rotates. on the axis. It seems similar here. I figured it would go away when the spool ran out. But that's not the case.
