Review on 🎞️ Wolverine F2D 35mm Film to Digital Image Converter with LCD Display and TV Connectivity by Chase Dunn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Four and a half stars. Not great but pretty good and no contrast issues for me

Ordered this last month after planning a trip home to visit people and remembered my dad had asked about a possibility 35- mm color slides, of which he has a HUGE collection from the early years of the family. Well it arrived at my house and I had some trouble setting it up at first. The instructions are not well written. Not terrible, just not great. Eventually I found out that the device wouldn't turn on properly because I screwed it up. I tried using an SD card which was bad. I replaced the bad SD card with a good SD card and voila, everything worked like clockwork, like a cake. Load the slides into an easy-to-use slide tray and exit. The scan quality was pretty good. At least as much as my 7 year old 3MP Sony Cybershot camera. Color reproduction is quite bright and there weren't any notable problems with the brightness balance. I saw on the company's website that there was a firmware fix for the alleged brightness and contrast issue, but given the quality of the images I received I didn't download it. It's possible my device came with a firmware update already downloaded, as (again) I haven't had any major contrast/brightness issues. All in all a very useful product. Some of the icon and button/menu combinations might seem a bit odd at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly and have been doing some serious family slide scanning. And here's a perhaps important detail for some of you readers: my people, who aren't very tech savvy, easily learned how to use it and continued scanning slides on a large scale even after I left. In summary then a little. Pros: A VERY useful product that delivers most goods (at least for me). Fairly quick scanning process (the slowest part is loading the slide tray) Small and easy to carry Image quality is reliable Decent Cons - For professional quality scanning, try another. The pixels are pretty good, but not phenomenal - The menu/OS and how it works isn't obvious at first - The instruction manual could be better In this age of buggy devices and frequent technological frustrations, I'm happy to say that's not the case.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • No automatic
