Cheap and portable - scanner

I've been using the Wolverine F2D digital image converter (scanner) for a few weeks now. It's a decent, simple, and inexpensive solution for converting slides and negatives that have probably been sitting in a shoebox for years. This comes in handy for those who don't want another big electronic device. It's small and has one moving part, a sturdy manual slide tray that you slide through after each scan/save. While pressing the button to scan is quick, the whole process, including setting theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Ordered this last month after planning a trip home to visit people and remembered my dad had asked about a possibility 35- mm color slides, of which he has a HUGE collection from the early years of the family. Well it arrived at my house and I had some trouble setting it up at first. The instructions are not well written. Not terrible, just not great. Eventually I found out that the device wouldn't turn on properly because I screwed it up. I tried using an SD card which was bad. I replaced theโ€ฆ

80% Good Solution - Slide & Negative Scanner

I bought this scanner to convert my 5,000 or so 35mm photos and slides into digital images and although I was perfectly ready, a lot more I'm glad I didn't do this. . The reason for this is that every higher quality film scanner I've found is much, much slower - I could never scan 5,000 frames in more than a minute at a time. I pay to have a few dozen of my photos digitized to a quality that this device can't match, but that's only for the very best of my photos. It's small, simple and fastโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Minor Issues

Affordable and Convenient Scanner

This is a simple and fast scanner. I use it to hold a collection of slides and negative strips that I've collected my whole life before the advent of digital technology. I already have an Epson Pro scanner that I bought for over $250 that I need for medium format negatives, but I've found it cumbersome on 35mm negatives and even more difficult to use on 35mm film. This scanner is inexpensive and completely self-contained. It does not need to be connected to a computer. Here's what I like soโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Convert 35mm negatives and slides to 5 megapixel (JPEG) digital images with the push of a button.
Cons
  • Obsolete

Does the job well.

I bought this particular digital converter based on a number of positive reviews compared to other similar products. After rummaging around in the attic and pulling out boxes of 35mm photographs with negatives and color slides, I began the arduous task of sorting through thousands of images to determine what I wanted to keep. To test Wolverine I decided to start with about 50 slides and 40 negatives. I read the user manual several times and then connected the USB cable (included) to the deviceโ€ฆ

Pros
  • F2D200 scanner, power supply, USB cable, negative cassette, slide cassette and lens cleaner included with each unit.
Cons

A quick and easy way to scan all your old photos

My father, like many others growing up in the 50's and 60's, took always Kodachrome slides. As a result, I have inherited hundreds of old family slides, many of which are over 50 years old. I was looking for an easy solution to convert all those old slides to digital. Wolverine's 35mm to digital converter turned out to be exactly the answer I was looking for. This little device is not only very easy to use, it also makes very good scans. A few minutes after plugging it in, I was scanningโ€ฆ
