Well, the good news is that it can withstand squirrels hanging on to it for seeds without breaking it (they break everything with their plastic sticks). The bad news is that squirrels can latch onto the seeds. Nice little feeder but I'm disappointed that squirrels can use it so easily. I keep trying to find something that squirrels aren't likely to get in, so far to no avail (I haven't tried the very expensive ones yet. I can't afford them!). Right now, when they're too aggressive and the birds can't use the feeders, I use a squirt gun with vinegar and water to scare them away. This works without harming them and also gives the birds some time to eat.
