The dog slides right out of him

I bought this harness because the handles on the back were very strong and could be used with a harness. I have another harness for my other much smaller dog that I've been using for about 16 years, it's no longer in production and I've never found one this good. This one seemed almost done, maybe just good for the car but not for running. The side straps can be tightened, but it's tricky, otherwise the extra length of the strap either dangles all over the place, or you can fold it up and have Velcro straps to keep it in place, which they don't The straps end up slipping off and hang out again. Above all, it is a harness that the dog can slip right out of. In the photos you can see a buckle right in the middle of the back. The dog steps on the harness, you pull it up and then attach it to the back, not the neck or sides. There are two metal leash rings which I think you both attach at the same time which is inconvenient, requires a leash with a big enough snap and still doesn't make the harness any safer. It can slide forward or backward. The middle buckle just doesn't fix the harness to the neck or tail. I had it in the tightest position and while it fit snugly, my dog didn't want to go home after a walk and just slipped out. an effort. I have a mother harness for her and she can still slip out if she really wants to and I'm pretty sure it almost cuts the circuit. However, she has to try harder to give me time to intervene before she succeeds.
