Habitat for wet or dry creatures

Habitat is a rectangular, gallon-sized hard plastic tank with 5 points of magnification and a cool, retractable, rotating feeder. Ideal for dry or wet environments. There is a lid with a handle for children. The lid also has small holes to allow the creature to breathe. Since we lived in the city, we decided to use the habitat for the beta fish. A gallon volume is spacious, the fish are happy. Children can observe the fish up close using the magnifying glass rings on the side of the enclosure or on the lid. They like to pull out the feeder, load the pellets into the feeder and push it back to empty the feed. We haven't used the habitat as a dry environment yet, but we can imagine how the kids will later use it to explore beetles, butterflies or frogs. It is portable and lightweight for kids to continue their future outdoor explorations. Because we use the habitat as a humid environment, we're not sure it's safe to wear the habitat with a pen. We only wear it with the base. I'm not sure if the number of air holes on the lid is enough for fish, so my husband unscrewed the 2 magnifying glass circles on the lid as a precaution.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires base
