Thanks Anker for the 7-port hub

I have a USB3.0 / 7-port hub that I use on an iMac 27" OSX 10.11/El Capitan. The device is on a power outlet .with the adapter that came with it. Everything works fine so far. But my iPad didn't charge it. The transfer speed is as expected: eg: 650MB..jpg and .png files (1 CD) takes about .Transferring text files in no time Works great with USB 2.0 I have a Western Digital 2.0 external hard drive for backups File transfer between USB3.0 computer, USB3.0 hub and external HD - & Time Machine works fine HD through the hub My new WD ext HD needs to be connected to the Computer must be connected for Time Machine to work properly. My antivirus program also scans the ext HD via the hub. However, I would like to point out something. Nice look, suits the computer accordingly. Angled connections are easy to pull afraid. But there are 2 facts about Angular Hub that I didn't understand: 1) Angular Hub. causes connected heads and cables to stick out and not be flat. This means I can't store it under the computer or on top of the computer leg as it doesn't fit, so it sits behind the computer next to the leg, unattached (no use of the included glue to allow it to be moved). User friendliness); 2) with up angled hubs I am concerned that over time dust will settle in the exposed ports and possibly cause a short when something is plugged in. So I cut out a note (adhesive end) to place on the exposed hubs for protection. Easily removed and replaced with access to closed ports. I have not had any problems with this device and recommend it for purchase. .
