Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance Control: Global CachΓ© IP2IR-P iTach TCP/IP to IR Converter with PoE by Napoleon Robbie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Happy with this unit does what it says on the tin

Works very well. We wrote a small AutoIt application so that it can be compiled into a portable EXE file. Our application "interrupts" IR commands directly over TCP, just like the iLean utility does when you click the "Send IR" button. (You can get this from the Global Cache website) I used Wireshark to see what it's sending over the network to reproduce this behavior, it's pretty simple. We recorded the commands using the ILearn utility, pointed our remote at the reset button hole, and basically copied and pasted the recorded line with a line feed and carriage return at the end. All you have to do is send the string to the iTach via TCP. Our method doesn't work well on high latency connections, but that's probably because our application didn't change the TCP settings. If you are on a local network, this method will work. We didn't test any cloud services as we wanted our solution to be 100% independent and on-premises. If you have no programming experience, Notepad and iLean are really all you *need* to get things done over the web.
