I bought this filter version for a whole house humidifier as did the paper versions. Easy to install as both the old and replacement filters have a red line showing where the top of the humidifier should be placed. I would recommend doing a quick test via the control panel after installation to make sure the water is flowing properly and there are no leaks. If you have an old humidifier, like I did before replacing it a few years ago, I would leak during the first few runs, so I just put a bucket under it for a few days and then voila, no leaks for the rest of the winter Season. This pillow is suitable for the winter season, and the humidity in the house is increased and comfortable. The only complaint I have is if you replace him at the end of the season. It tends to flake off a bit and kick up some dust, making the cleaning process short but tedious. The paper version does not have this problem. Overall, it works as intended, but gives 4 out of 5 stars due to the extra cleaning effort involved in replacing it.
