After seeing Eric with his car on YouTube I searched for the same torque wrench. I'm NOT the "follow the leader” guy on fancy tools and I did some research. Why would you choose it over a traditional bar torque wrench or a clicker torque wrench? Clicker type calibration loss over time This is the best combination of two types of devices with significantly longer intervals between the required calibrations, but always still audible click of a traditional torque wrench. Overall, the product is VERY well made and my complaints are few and far between. Complaints so far: - The handle is short. Compared to a traditional 1/2" clicker, this torque wrench is about 3/4 the size long Great for tight spaces but at higher torque settings f For things like lug nuts, engine cross member bolts, suspension components, etc., it can be very difficult to apply the required torque without literally putting your body weight on the torque values. You also can't put an extended arm on it as that won't give accurate torque readings. The 1/2" socket is not fixed in the body of the torque wrench. I'm not sure why it was designed that way, from the outside for possible maintenance or ease of manufacture. But my wrench comes with the 1/2" socket comes out fairly easily when you pull the socket out of its end.- "Weapons Manual" for this torque wrench is NOT like a traditional wrench. By that I mean it takes extra mental effort to remember that your clicker is NOT after every use. I have to take the time to manually reset it and also take the time to remind myself to reset it as there is no feedback if the plunger doesn't reset. This is ONLY a problem, when using the unit for the first time.I have learned to reset the plunger and leave it installed.Overall these complaints are extremely MINOR ailments will. Overall I thought it would be one of those hopelessly expensive tools that professional mechanics have that I can't afford, but when I heard the price I was pleasantly surprised that not only is it affordable but it's not too big. more so than buying a traditional clicker style torque wrench from one of the "enthusiast" level manufacturers (Craftsman, Kobalt, etc.) while still having a much higher safety factor.
