Well I bought this a few weeks ago pretty much to clean up the garage a bit. There was no particular need for this. Then my washing machine broke and dumped about 30 gallons of water in my living room, dining room and kitchen. And the wet/dry vacuum has become the coolest thing in the world. The suction head lifted the water really well and was strong enough to pick up about an inch of water off the bottom. Absolutely brilliant. Very reasonably priced and well rated in consumer reports and other online sources. The only improvement I see is the power cord, maybe 5-10 feet longer when the water is all over the bottom and an extension cord isn't an attractive option (thankfully I have outlets *everywhere* so I can just keep going) . Power outlet). In general, I am very satisfied - everything is worth buying, at least just in case.
