So I have a GMC Yucon with standard tires and no lift kit. I easily get under my back without using ramps or jacks. There is a screw holding it. Be careful of your eyes when removing the old ones as dust, sand and rust can get into them. With the old one removed, you simply insert the tongue into the frame and screw it on. It probably took about 5 minutes. Loading a spare tire takes longer than installing a lift. It has springs to keep the tire safe. Someone cut the old one's cable and stole the tire. After buying a new part, it was easy to fix.
