Poor quality control, poor quality parts.

I learned my lesson when I bought those gray market parts on the intranet; always check before installation. When I first tested this front panel, I noticed that you have to wiggle the flash drive in the USB 2.0 port for it to recognize the drive. The 3.0 ports worked fine, but I haven't checked the audio jacks yet. The audio connectors on the front did not line up with the holes in the front panel, but a little thumb pressure snapped them back into place. Good. No, I know the more important parts are working, it's time to install. I thread the cables through the front hole in the PC and the front panel slides cleanly into the slot, stops flush with the front of the PC and looks sharp. So I take the screws and to my chagrin the screw holes don't match! So now I have to patch the holes to make it work. I don't want to send it back because I'm afraid I might get something worse. This is the second front panel expansion device I've bought for this project and I'm starting to wonder if I'll find a device that will 100% work and fit properly. I intend to leave this one and keep my eyes peeled for the one that also has a card reader. I'm a little disappointed, but I doubt I'll find what I really want in good quality. At $18 I think it's worth it (it's only worth what you're willing to pay) but it's difficult to estimate the cost of a device without knowing how much a unit costs.
