Has worked great for several months. Then problems.

Fits and looks great on the front of a newly built PC. That's the good part. However, you will find that the supplied cables are too short to connect to the connectors if it is a standard ATX MB size. Had to buy longer cables to connect this thing when needed. It worked fine for a while, but then I started getting USB connection errors. Panel 4 has a USB port, so I switched to another one and then everything was fine. One by one, the other ports started giving the same errors. Right now all USB

Great for fixing front USB sticks that didn't work

My two front USB sticks got too big last year. I don't know why but I thought this would fix it on my 10 year old Dell. Turns out the motherboard has some issues so I had to remount the top 2 USBs on the case and move everything around to make room for it. It fits easily in a compartment, and if you're familiar with some basic computer tools, you might be able to figure it out. PC than the original that was flush. Do not worry. It works fine and now I have USB drives on the front. I think it's…

does what it promises with 1 release

One of the 3.0 ports only works with 2.0 speed. everything else works as it should. I won't be returning it just because I really need 2 2.0 ports for the controllers and 1 3.0 port for the portable drive. It still gives me 4 working ports on the front of a case that has NONE. Even if 1 port is down I can handle it. It's 1. well built, thick metal and doesn't bend much when you use mounting screws. REMOVE all quick disconnects at compartment 5.25. Screw it in and it will feel like part of an…

Works so far but doesn't fit well

This has allowed me to add two additional USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports to the front of my server. The ports worked, were recognized by Windows (Linux I'll check later), but I haven't checked the speed yet (USB 3.0 vs 2.0). The screw holes didn't line up with my slots in the case, and the included screws didn't thread very well into the unit, even with the holes lined up. The width of the front panel is noticeably smaller than the width of the case, so there are gaps. The USB connectors…

Poor quality control, poor quality parts.

I learned my lesson when I bought those gray market parts on the intranet; always check before installation. When I first tested this front panel, I noticed that you have to wiggle the flash drive in the USB 2.0 port for it to recognize the drive. The 3.0 ports worked fine, but I haven't checked the audio jacks yet. The audio connectors on the front did not line up with the holes in the front panel, but a little thumb pressure snapped them back into place. Good. No, I know the more important…
