Despite the teapot's quirky and elegant design, this so-called 'stainless' teapot has a dull, sticky film on the outside that renders it dull and unsightly. Over time we hoped it was just a protective film that could be polished/washed off to reveal a smooth, smooth stainless steel finish. There is no such happiness. We bought a 2015 teapot for $183 after watching an interview with Michael Graves on CBS on a Sunday morning and the film never faded. We were so disappointed and have now revived our Chantal stainless steel teapot, beautiful after over 20 years. Terrible product execution and I'm sure Michael Graves' vision was much better.
