Bought in July 2014 for $5.99 but not yet installed. It has 45 folds and ends with glue with a raised washer around the holes. I added a flat edge to the ends and no light came through except for a broken spot as shown in the photo. Oil will seep here, but very little. Includes plug-in dump valve; I prefer the screw type as it's less messy. The filter says Made in Korea. Good price but quality control is a bit questionable. First review from 05.07.15. Update 12/07/18: We bought an RX350 and gave K&N another replacement. The fit/construction is better than the first filter I bought but the number of pleats is down to 43 actually 42 1/2 because two are glued together. I bought these to compare and I like the Denso best considering the price: K&N - 43 folds; outer diameter 69 mm; Made in KoreaToyota OEM - 46 folds; outer diameter 69 mm; Made in Thailand Purolator - 56 folds; outer diameter 59 mm; Made in USA Denso - 50 Pleats, 69mm OD; Made in ChinaMobil1 - 66 pleats, 65mm OD; Made in the USA (not "Made in USA" listed. The Purolator is significantly smaller than the OEM but makes up for it with the amount of creases. However, the Purolator has white felt material on the ends - the fibers seem to come out easily off and I don't like that. This new K&N has the same little notch as the one I bought in 2015. It's not that deep and I don't think it would make a huge difference in filtering ability. K&N doesn't give one Mileage rating, but their website says it's OEM compliant, so if Toyota recommends an oil change at 10,000, this filter should meet that requirement.An OEM oil filter has fewer wrinkles than an aftermarket oil filter?By pennies to save on the oil filter?
