I don't know why I didn't buy this collar sooner! I have been using a spring clip collar on my German Shepherd for 2 years and have enjoyed being in control of my dog but the spring clip would sometimes get stuck in the chain and actually opened up a few times causing the collar to fly off my dog. This is clearly very dangerous! I bought this one and wish I had bought it sooner because it's so durable, easy to put on and take off and I don't have to worry about the spring clip coming loose and my dog falling off. As far as prong function goes, she was a life saver. My GSD has a strong prey instinct and will hunt squirrels, cats and rodents. After knee surgery and not wanting to pay for a walker, this spiked collar was a lifesaver because I could control my dog even if he saw a squirrel without fear of it dragging me to the ground and hurting my knee.
