Review on 💧 Waterproof Buck Converter: DROK 090586 DC-DC Step Down Voltage Regulator 9-32V to 5V, 10A 50W Power Supply by Mark Holloway

These guys have made it so much easier for me to provide energy for my Christmas/Christmas light show. The show is a mix of AC and DC lights. DC lighting is great (RGB and pixels and what not), but the voltage drop, especially for the WS2811's 5V pixels, is something I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out. I used these for my hard to reach poles (on the 2nd floor) where I needed to run longer cables from the PSU to the pole, so I was worried only a 5V drop would be an issue. As some of my properties were already 12v they fit perfectly and work fantastic. They're hidden on the back of the props (pixel wreaths in my case) and I can just treat them like 12V devices in terms of power/data. So on the roof I only have a 12v power supply for all the props. I plan on continuing to use it next year and probably replacing some of the large 5V waterproof power supplies I've been using this year to power a few things. With the huge voltage range of these things, I have a lot of options (I could go to 24V for example to power everything so I can centralize all my power). Anyway, I was very happy! To be fair, my particular application is already a noisy situation when it comes to power line noise. I'm not sure how well they would work for audio applications, for example, but they're fantastic for my purposes.
