Using this cradle with clips (not permanently bolted) to tow a canoe feels very solid and doesn't move while it's moving. Installation was a little tricky at first, simply because of the larger size of the parts and the fact that the supports would seat properly when tightened. The width adjustment works great and fits my 17 F-150 perfectly. The height adjustment is useless unless that 2-inch difference really helps you. The metal seems quite solid, but the connection points could probably be improved.
